OFFICIAL RULES
ELIGIBILITY: This sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is offered only to legal residents of the United States including its commonwealths, territories and possessions (collectively referred to herein as “states”) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older (except in the case of legal residents of certain states/territories where the legal age of majority is greater than eighteen (18) years of age, such legal age of majority) at the time of entry. Unless specifically excluded as set forth in these Official Rules, any person who has provided the information required by these Official Rules and has entered the Sweepstakes within the timelines specified below shall be eligible to win the grand prize. Employees and the immediate families (spouses and parents, siblings and children and their spouses and members of the same household of such employees) of American Century Services, LLC (“Sponsor”) and the Kansas State Treasurer’s Office and advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, “Affiliates” and together with Sponsor, the “Released Parties”) are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OF ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE IS NOT REQUIRED TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. In addition, opting out of further contact by Sponsor or its Affiliates, whether via mail, phone, email or other communication medium will not decrease your chances of winning.
TIME OF SWEEPSTAKES: Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) on May 24, 2021 and ends on 11:59 p.m. CT on May 31, 2021 (“Entry Period”). There will be one (3) random drawings on or about June 1, 2021.
HOW TO ENTER: An eligible person may enter the Sweepstakes by providing a brief statement with their reason(s) they love (choose) a 529 plan through the contest entry page and completing the form with the required contact information.
Use of any automated system (including, but not limited to, any bot, script, macro or a promotion entry service) to submit Sweepstakes entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, illegible, mutilated, postage-due, misdirected entries or entries not received during the Entry Period. Entries not actually received by Sponsor during the Entry Period will not be eligible to win the Sweepstakes. Limit one (1) entry per person. Entries that are incomplete or illegible are void. All entries become the property of Sponsor and may not be acknowledged or returned.
By submitting a Sweepstakes entry, you consent to be bound by the terms of our Privacy and Security Policy found at www.americancentury.com. We do not sell your information. Under this policy, however, we may from time to time use your personal information to contact you by phone, email or mail, and we may share personal information with other financial service companies in the American Century Investments corporate family and with others we retain to help us with our research efforts, mailings or other American Century Investments marketing or communications activities. Under this policy you may opt out from further communications.
THREE (3) GRAND PRIZES: Three (3) winners will receive the following:
A $1,529 Learning Quest account for winner to be set up and managed by Sponsor, or $1,529 contribution to an existing Learning Quest account.
WINNER SELECTION: Three (3) potential Prize winners will be selected on or about June 1, 2021. The potential winners will be selected from among all eligible entries actually received by Sponsor during the Entry Period. Selection will be conducted by Sponsor, the Kansas State Treasurer’s Office or another third party as may be designated by Sponsor. The odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these official rules, the potential winners will be declared the official winners of the Sweepstakes. If the potential winners are ineligible to win as specified above, a second drawing for the prize will be held at Sponsor’s discretion and time permitting and the prize will be awarded to alternate potential winners selected from among all remaining eligible entries received during the Entry Period. In addition, if the prize is refused or the prize notification is returned or deemed undeliverable (after 3 attempts), an alternate potential winner(s) will be selected from among all remaining eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Potential winners will be notified by phone and will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release, and where not prohibited by law, a Publicity Release Form by June 1, 2021. Failure to timely return executed forms for account award within 60 days will cause prize to be forfeited. If account is not opened within 60 days, prize will be forfeited.
By accepting the prize, the winners acknowledge that Released Parties have not made and are not responsible for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied in fact or law, relative to the prize or any portion thereof. The winners further acknowledge by accepting the prize that the Released Parties will not be deemed to have given any investment advice or provided any investment research related to the granting of the prize. The winners agree to complete other forms or documents reasonably requested by Sponsor, unless prohibited by law. The Winners, by acceptance of the prize, grant to Sponsor, and each of their respective designees the right to publicize the winners’ name, address (city and state/territory/province of residence), photograph, voice, statements and/or other likeness and prize information for advertising, promotional, trade and/or any other purpose in any media or format now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity, without limitation and without further compensation, consideration, permission or notification, unless prohibited by law.
CONDITIONS: Released Parties are not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure of Sponsor to receive entry information for any reason whatsoever. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to entrant’s or any others’ computers and/or wireless devices related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials or rules of the Sweepstakes.
Released Parties are not responsible for entries that are late, lost, misdirected, or damaged. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel Sweepstakes in its entirety, if it becomes technically corrupted or because of non-authorized human intervention. Sponsor also serves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual that Sponsor believes is violating these official rules or that is suspected of attempting to disrupt or defraud the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes. By entering, entrants (a) agree to these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which shall be final in all respects; and (b) release the Released Parties and the State of Kansas from any and all liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by their participation or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of the prize (or any portion thereof). Noncompliance with the official rules will result in disqualification.
WINNERS/RULES: Entrants can view a copy of the rules governing the Sweepstakes by going to the following website address: learningquest.com. To obtain the name of the winner or a copy of the official rules via mail, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: 529 Day Sweepstakes, c/o American Century Investments/ABX, 4500 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64111. Specify “winners list” or “rules” on your request.
